Lovin' Today

It has been raining here for 5 days, yes 5 long, dark, dreary days.  I haven't gotten much accomplished because I have decided to be a couch potato during these bleak, wet days.  If only school would have been canceled, then I could have had pajama days like we did when the girls were little.  The upside, big miss called and invited me and little miss to visit her this weekend!  She got us tickets to the Lupe Fiasco concert!  Can you believe it?  She wants her mommy to go to a concert with her at her college, I am in heavenly bliss.  I remember thinking back in August how she might not want me to visit because I would cramp her style.  Well, it has been the complete opposite.  She calls me every day and we talk on FB, Twitter, and texting.  In fact, I think she speaks to her dad more now than when she lived here!
She keeps saying how excited she is that little miss and I are coming up, so I can't wait for this week to be over and for Saturday morning to get here.  I am forever in love with my daughters!

So Not in The Pink Today

We are having a mini-hurricane here in Miami today, so after some quick errands this morning with hubby, we are stuck inside for the rest of the day.  Poor Shelby has tried to go outside 5 times to do her business and she runs back in because she hates the rain (I wonder how much longer she can hold it, lol).  We are kidless today, since little miss had the annual hall decorating at school this morning for Homecoming Week and is spending the day at a friends house. Big miss called from college saying that she is going to the Enrique Iglesias concert AND the Lupe Fiasco concert Halloween weekend, FOR FREE!  She is making friends in high places, I tell you.
Me......not feeling it today and I have to get with it.  So much posting to do on my teacher blog and the stack of ungraded papers is getting taller each day.  I hope I am feeling a little pinker later today.

Ta ta for now!

I Should.....Sundays

I should...go to BJ's.
I should...clean the bathrooms.
I should...get a pedicure.
I should...exercise.

What should you be doing today?

Ring, Ring..... Hi Mom...

You know when your phone rings in the middle of you teaching and it is your daughter from college, something must be wrong.  Here's how that conversation went today:

Me:  What's wrong?

Jess:  What are you doing?

Me:  Nothing, just teaching science.

Jess:  Oh, right now.

Me:  Yes, why????

Jess:  I missed a step coming out of the math building, fell down, someone picked me up, went to the clinic, and I have a badly sprained ankle.  Now I have crutches.

Me:  silence...... then, do you need me?

Jess:  No, I just wanted to tell you, call me back when you are done?

Me:  Ok, I love you.

Jess:  I love you too.

Now everyone, what do you think I was able to do for the next 2 hours of my day?  You got it, NOTHING!!  No science, no math, no nothing.  I couldn't wait for that clock to move.

Turns out she is fine, just very mad at herself and extremely frustrated.  She is in pain, hungry, tired, and pissed.  Her post on FB wasn't too happy, so I commented and said that I wish I was there to cook for her and make her feel better.  She of course commented back with a heartbreaking "me toooo".

This too shall pass....
