Bloglovin

I am trying out Bloglovin to see if this is where I want to start reading all of your posts once Reader leaves us.

If you use Bloglovin, please click the link below to follow me on Bloglovin.  If not, then click the link and start your own journey on Bloglovin.  I think I am making a good choice.  I checked some other reader type sources and I didn't like the interface.  I do like the one on Bloglovin.

On Losing Grandma

Grandma is gone.  There are no words to express how I feel, but I can hold on to her by sharing some of her life here on my little blog.  Grandma was born in 1920 and from the first day of her life, she fought to be heard.  It was ironic that in the past few years, her hearing was failing.  We would laugh and say she didn't have to hear what we have to say anyway, it was always her way and that was it.  She would go against the norm in every way and spoke her mind, no matter what.  She beat uterine cancer and within this past month, she survived a fall and hip surgery.  She passed away and fought till the end, but this was a fight where God would win and we would have to let her go.
She was the last of her generation.  My mother's generation is now in charge of our family and my poor mom doesn't even know how to fill the void that is left by her mommy.  The truth behind why my grandma is no longer with us will eventually come out, so I ask for your continued prayers because we have a long road of fighting ahead of us.  It seems that grandma is still fighting through us and we will try to win this one for her.  Her death will not be in vain.
I said a few words at the cemetery, so I leave you with my thoughts.
My dear grandma,
I can't believe you are gone.
As much as I prepared for this day,
I thought you would live forever.
You fought so hard for everything.
I wish you had won this last fight.
You were a woman before her time and your legacy
lives on through the grandchildren and
great grandchildren you have left behind.  We will
try to take over where you left off, but nobody
will ever fill your determined shoes.
I love you today, tomorrow, and always.

Grandma is...

My grandmother has taken a turn for the worse and the doctors say it is a matter of time.  She has lived the best 92 years anyone could imagine and if the time is near, then let it be.  God knows when He needs us and even though she will be missed, she will be at peace.  I will be back to blogging as soon as I can, but for now, please send up some prayers for grandma and a little extra prayer for my family.

I Should Sundays...

I should...put the huge pile of clothes that are on my bed into their respective drawers.

I should...take a shower to get ready for the Oscars!!

I should...give Shelby a bath, she is just too stinky.

I should...dye my grays, they are way out of hand.

I should...get my niece her birthday present (any chance someone can hook me up with Blue Cinderella curtains).

What should you be doing?

I Should Sundays (the return)

It has been long overdue and today is the day!  Every Sunday, you can hop on over and check out what I should be doing.  Hopefully, this will inspire you to figure out what you should be doing, too!  So here it is:

I Should...not have had that chocolate doughnut at 1:00 a.m this morning.
I Should...be paying bills instead of blog hopping.
I Should...go to the grocery store sometime today.
I Should...wash the clothes that have piled up (the jeans smell ok, lol).
I Should...exercise today (does walking back and forth from the washer count?).

So what should you be doing?

5 for Five

What a week!  I am so happy that we had 2 four day weeks at school and another one coming up the first week in February.  We spent the long weekend in Disney (post coming up), so let's see how I did on last weeks 5 for Five:

1.  Avoid the drama that is going on at work right now.
I didn't feed into the drama, per se, but I did blog about it here:  http://faithfulinfirst.blogspot.com/2013/01/you-wont-believe-it.html.  This was my way of avoiding it at work and to help me find closure (I didn't, but I guess I can give myself half of a point...)

2.  Log what I eat 3 out of 5 days.

I used Fitness Pal for 4 days and then Disney took over.  So check this off!

3.  Hang out with my daughter one night this week.

We hung out 2 nights this week, so I am ahead of the game.  We had a great time and I am looking forward to hanging with my 18 year old many more times before she leaves this nest.

4.  Drink at least 5 glasses of water a day.

Done!

5.  Smile at everyone I see in the hallway at work.

Done!  I even smiled at DRAMA!!!!

So here is what I have in store for this week:

1.  Start some sort of workout plan.  I am checking a few out, I will pick one of them this week.

2.  Log my food intake for 5 days.

3.  Unplug an hour before I go to bed.  This is hard for me.  I check email one more time, get in a game of solitaire, facebook, twitter, instagram, blog, oh boy!

4.  Do my homework in a timely manner.  I am a procrastinator extraordinaire!  This Master's Certificate in Math is killing me!

5.  Grade at work, not at home.  (Yes, I am that teacher.  Grading at home in front of the TV or while spending time with the family.  I.  will.  not.. do it.)

So that's it for this week.  What is your 5 for Five?  Link up below and let's motivate each other!

5 For Five

Another week of the year has gone by and it is time for a new 5 for Five.  First, here is how I did last week:

1.  Post my 5 for Five (cheated, I know, but check it off, nonetheless!)

Done!

2.  Leave work at the end of the workday 4 out of 5 days.

I was able to achieve this 3 out 5, which made me mad.  This whole school year I haven't left late at all, so I thought this would be a given.  Wouldn't you know it, crap happened 2 days in a row and I had to stay to put out the fires!

3.  Eat healthy all 5 days.

Nope.  That's all I am saying.

4.  Work out 2 out of 5 days.

Double Nope

5.  Apparently I can't count and didn't have a number 5....

This week I will:

1.  Avoid the drama that is going on at work right now.

2.  Log what I eat 3 out of 5 days.

3.  Hang out with my daughter one night this week.

4.  Drink at least 5 glasses of water a day.

5.  Smile at everyone I see in the hallway at work.
