What could be more therapeutic than cupcakes? We have some great cupcake bakeries here in Kendall and my sister called me an hour ago to tell me she was bringing me a surprise! One bakery she visits very often had a new cupcake called "Eclipse" after, you guessed it, Mr. Edward Cullen, vampire esq. (my secret husband, lol). She also brought 2 oreo cookie overloads and a red velvet. Therapy for this Thursday went very well......

I Am Back/Woe is Me Wednesday
Another migraine had me out of commission, so I am a little behind in all the goings on in blogland. As I get older, the pain is becoming worse and worse. Losing a few days has become the norm and I really don't want to give in to the pain, but I have no choice.
Jessica is still waiting on her boyfriend to make his decision, he is still thinking. Thank goodness she has lifted her spirits and of course she has been going to school looking "hot", just because, lol. Never let them see you cry, I say, but I know when nobody is looking a few tears catch their way into her eyes. I am still praying for peace so her last few months of high school aren't spent in sadness.
Julianne is trying out for the dance team again (really, a technicality, as current members are guaranteed a spot). I can't wait to see her solo for tryouts, she said I am going to cry. Well, I cry even when my girls just stand there, so dancing will bring me over the edge!
I think we are caught up just a bit, I will post some other stuff a bit later.
Happy Hump Day!

One Day Later
Jessica cried herself to sleep last night and today while she is still sad, she woke up with what seems to be the flu! I don't know if it can get any worse, but it is what it is. I am praying that tomorrow brings better days and that her and her boyfriend will figure this out. I will patiently sit on the sidelines and watch and wait. She will come to me when she needs me and I will be here.
Boys Are......
I just went in to check on my daughter Jessica and found her in tears because her boyfriend needs time to think.... Why do they always need time to think?????? She is just so sad and with Grad Nite, Prom, and graduation only minutes away, this is just not the time Lord. I can't fix this, but I can pray for peace and an ease to the blow that may or may not come. The worst part, he is such a nice guy, they get along so well, but they will probably end up at different colleges and he is scared. I just want this to go away, I hate seeing my baby cry and not be able to do anything about it. My heart is heavy tonight.

Therapeutic Thursdays
Today has taught me a little bit about what to expect in the coming months as we continue to prepare for Jessica's journey to college. During the holidays we have a Secret Santa at work during the last week before we leave for break. This past year, my Secret Santa left me a book about coping with your child going to college each day in my mailbox. Everyone knows how close I am with my girls and how hard this giant step is for me. One of the books was finally given to me today (she kept leaving it at home, lol) by 2 students from her class. When I took the book out of the bag and read the title, I immediately started crying and my students got so worried. I just couldn't stop, but I explained to them again about Jessica so they would stop worrying. The title of the book: "She's Leaving Home, A Mother's Journal About Her Daughter Going Off to College". I may never get past the title.......

Spring Has Sprung
Oh the happy days of spring are here! I love the newness in each day during this season, everything just seems happier. I so enjoyed this spring break with my girls, especially Jessica, as I can only imagine what her spring break plans will entail next year as a college freshman away from home...... I pray it will be with us, but who knows. We had a great time at the beach on Friday (a sacrifice I make for my children because I hate the beach) with their friends, yes I am the cool mom, lol. Last night they asked me to take them on an adventure just like I use to do when they were little, so we got in the car and went to Bayside in downtown Miami. It was a beautiful moonlit night on the bay and we laughed so much at silly jokes between the 3 of us. I will miss Jessica so much when she leaves, but I will cherish every moment up until I leave her at the door of her dorm.......

Not So Good Saturday
As a mom, I worry always about my girls, even more when they venture out into the world without me. A dear friend of my both of my girls was in a serious car accident last night and had to be air lifted to the hospital with a head injury. I had just spoken with him on Facebook around 10 p.m. because he was going out to celebrate his last weekend here, you see, he was to start the Coast Guard training camp on Monday.....
So please pray for our dear friend, Jairo.
May he have a speedy and peaceful recovery and may our Lord cover him with grace and mercy. Amen.

Spring Break Has Arrived
I am sitting in my bed searching the net and organizing my computer files. This is how I will spend my first day of spring break! The next few days will be filled with long lazy days spent with my girls. We will organize, purge, de-clutter, and also have plenty of blessed fun with each other. I know this week will go by quickly, as all good things come to an end. But, it will give us the energy we need to get through the rest of the school year as we await the sun filled days of summer.

Magical/Manic Mondays
Today definitely falls in the manic mode...... For the first time in years, I did not wake up on time! My daughter came in and asked me if I was going to work today, in my slumber I asked her what day it was! She laughed hysterically and said Monday mom, it's Monday. Great, it was now 7 am, and I always wake up at 5:45. 20 minutes later I was out the door, without breakfast or lunch. Needless to say, the rest of the day was pretty crappy. I am now watching PLL and will be off to bed soon.
Thanks for listening <3
